Bridge #223

The Bucks County Commissioners officially re-opened county Bridge No. 223 to traffic on June 10th with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  The bridge was reconstructed after being damaged by high storm water from the Gallows Run which flows underneath.  The historical beauty of the stone, double-arch bridge was maintained while ensuring state-of-the-art engineering.

The commissioners approved the $591,000 contract for repairs which began in October 2007.  The original marble stone from 1826 is now inlaid in the new bridge next to the 2008 bronze marker. Bridge No. 223 is located between Rt. 611 (Old Easton Rd.) and Ealer Hill Road in Kintnersville, Nockamixon Township.
