Formed by the acute care hospitals in Bucks County, the Bucks County Medical Society and the Bucks County Department of Health, BCHIP’s mission is to provide a leadership role in Bucks County through a collaborative approach to address gaps in health services and to improve the health status of the community. BCHIP’s primary focus is the underlying problem of insufficient access to basic health services. Programs include: Adult Health Clinic, Children’s Dental Program, and Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Program which includes a Tobacco Cessation Program. BCHIP collaborates with many agencies through the Domestic Violence Task Force, Bucks County Wellness Partnership and Assurance of Health Care for Children. BCHIP improves health and enhances lives of hundreds of Bucks County individuals and families each year.

and interested parents and citizens; developed a proposal in
response to a State initiative addressing the needs of local
communities; aim is to redesign the ways programs and services
are delivered, coordinated, and managed given the diverse resources
and needs of individual communities; strategy is to build enduring
community-wide, integrated service networks that avoid duplication
and fragmentation and build on family strengths, resources,
and natural supports and address needs families cannot otherwise
meet. In Bucks County, FSSR focuses on Bensalem Township, Bristol
Township, and Morrisville Borough.

A faith based multi-issue community
organization with the goal of empowering residents to become
participants in the decision making process in concerns that
affect their lives; with help from the Regional Council of
Neighborhood Organizations, based at St. Joseph's University,
organizes citizens around issues identified by participating
congregations and provides leadership and organizational training.
Issues successfully addressed include opposition to the proposed
riverboat gambling operation, expansion of D.A.R.E. prevention
programs by working with area legislators to procure additional
funding, and the problem of teen violence with the establishment
of a regular Teen Night in collaboration with the Family YMCA
of Lower Bucks County. Currently participating are Bethel AME
Church, Zion Lutheran Church, and Harriman United Methodist
Church, all in Bristol; Eddington Presbyterian Church, Bensalem;
Kol-Emet Synagogue, Yardley; First United Methodist Church,
Fairless Hills; and Volunteers for the Homeless, Inc.

by the Plumstead Township Police Department has created programming
by and for residents of the Valley View Mobile Home Park; provides
recreation for children and youth and the entire community,
tutoring and homework clubs, health, safety, and prevention
programs for residents of all ages; Community Center donated
by park management; monthly newsletter; scholarships for continuing
education for teens and adults. Special events help to raise
money for community activities. A collaboration of residents,
police, Doylestown Hospital, the Bucks County Department of
Health, also the Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug
Dependence, Inc., and the Central Bucks Family YMCA.
