Program helps domestic violence
victims of all ages primarily in Bensalem Township but all
calls will be returned; case management services provide referrals
to appropriate public and private agencies and supportive follow-up;
anyone with questions is encouraged to call; referrals will
be made if appropriate. The program, which works closely with
A Woman's Place, also aims to increase public education in
the area of domestic violence.

A joint effort underway involving
all seven hospitals in Bucks County, the Bucks County Department
of Health, and A Woman's Place to train hospital staff and
physicians to detect and refer patients who are victims of
domestic violence. Screening of all female patients is the
goal, as well as heightened awareness of domestic violence
within the health care community and increased referrals to
social service organizations.
The Task Force also seeks to increase the role of hospitals and the Health
Department in community education about domestic violence and to involve
more police officers and district justices in its efforts.

Community-based support groups
for victims/survivors meet weekly in Bensalem, Bristol, Doylestown,
Newtown, and Perkasie at various times; woman-to-woman violence
and teen dating violence support groups formed on an as-needed
basis; support groups for child witnesses are offered several
times a year; support groups for survivors of domestic violence
wanting to work on other issues are offered several times a
year.

Self -help/support group in Bucks
County whose purpose is to assist non-custodial parents with
their difficulties. Among our programs is one that helps with
domestic violence problems. We assist men who are victims of
violence, and teach men to not be violent with their families
or anyone else.

Treatment program for males 19
and older who are abusive to their intimate partners; 33-week
intensive program: first three sessions are one hour individual
evaluations, next ten weeks are two hour psychoeducational
group sessions, and last 20 weeks are interactive therapy group
sessions. Individual and couple counseling available. Accepted
by courts, probation and parole as domestic abuse, batterer
and anger management treatment in Philadelphia and surrounding
counties. 9:00am to 9:00pm, Monday to Friday; leave message
at any time.
Sliding scale from $35 to $100 per individual session and $25 to $50
per group session.

them stop the violence in their relationships; the focus is
on learning how to control oneself instead of controlling others
to get one's needs met. Meets in the evenings (varies according
