Mentor program matches children and youth ages 7 to 17 who are at-risk with an adult volunteer using a case management approach; special program for pregnant and parenting teens age 19 and under; Options/Alternatives program provides individual counseling and services for adjudicated youth. School-based mentoring program currently serves Bensalem, Centennial, Pennsbury, and Quakertown school districts with employees released during work day from BetzDearborn, Inc., the Courier Times , LTL Color Compounders, and Wehrung's Family Home Center (more companies are encouraged to participate).
The Mentoring Institute is a four-agency collaborative program designed to provide training, consultation, and technical assistance to increase the supply and quality of both mentors and mentoring programs serving adults and children and is slated to start in 1999. Collaborating agencies are the Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc., Catholic Social Services, and VITA.
8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
No fee for Big Brothers Big Sisters services.

Intergenerational mentoring program pairing older adults (55+) with at risk middle school students; pilot program, in collaboration with R.S.V.P (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program through the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging); starts 1998-1999 school year in two middle schools in Bensalem and Pennsbury school districts; focused on strengthening student abilities in school performance, capacity to form relationships, connection to positive adult and community norms and interpersonal problem solving skills.
Call 8:30am to 4:30pm, Tuesday and Wednesday.
No fee.
