Supervision Fees

The collection of Supervision Fees in Bucks County began in 1992. By state law a minimum of $25 per month is to be assessed for each client under probation or parole supervision. The Bucks County Court has set the supervision fee at $25.

In Bucks County the supervision fee is assessed to each client on the first of each month. For clients placed on probation for one year this will mean that there will be twelve assessments of $25 each or $300 during the course of a year. So you can project the amount which will be assessed to your account by multiplying 25 by the number of months you are scheduled to be under supervision.

A. The sad reality is that not everyone completes the scheduled probation or parole period. This system of assessment has been accepted as the fairest way of collecting fees only for the months a person is under supervision.

Q. "I agreed to pay $75 a month toward my restitution, the court costs and the supervision fees. I have been making my payments each month but I none of my payments have been applied to the supervision fees. What's up with that?"
A. In Bucks County a priority has been established for the payment of court ordered financial obligations. If a person, such as yourself, owes restitution, then all of the payments you send in will be applied toward the restitution balance until it is paid in full. Once paid, the payments will be applied toward the Court Costs owed until they are paid and then towards the supervision fees.
