Criminal
Juvenile Probation
The Bucks County Juvenile Court functions as both a judicial and
an administrative agency primarily with respect to children under
age 18, who are charged with juvenile delinquency for violating the
criminal law.
As a judicial agency, the Court determines questions of fact and
law based on evidentiary hearings. As an administrative agency, the
Court is responsible for providing custodial services and treatment
including probation supervision and placement to children under the
jurisdiction of this agency. All children arrested for committing
felonies and misdemeanors are processed through the office.
Twenty-four hour a day probation services are required for intake
and for decisions concerning detention. To carry out its work, the
Court employs a professional staff of 37 Juvenile Probation Officers
and managerial, 9 clerical and 4 Victim Witness, and 9 fiscal personnel.
