The Bucks County Hazardous Incident Response Team (HIRT) is tasked with the responsibility of responding to, and mitigating a Hazardous Material Release within the county. The Bucks County HIRT is comprised of 2 paid staff and 32 volunteers. Our mission is to maintain our training and equipment to protect lives and the environment in Bucks County. The Bucks County HIRT provides assistance to the emergency services within the county in the form of technical advise and training.
The Bucks County HIRT maintains the Off-Site Emergency Response Plans for over 200 chemical facilities within the county. These plans are required under SARA Title III, The Community Right-To-Know act.
