Bucks County District Attorney Matthew D. Weintraub confirmed this morning that Bucks County detectives and Tullytown Borough police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy found Saturday night in Tullytown.

The boy, identified as Mazikeen Clarey, was found dead in his home in the 500 block of Lovett Avenue at around 10:35 p.m. on Saturday. He was found lying on a bed.

The cause and manner of death were not immediately apparent, as there were no obvious signs of trauma to the boy’s body.

An autopsy, including toxicology testing, will be performed to determine how the child died.

The boy’s mother, identified as Jennifer Clarey, 42, has been hospitalized after being found in the residence with injuries that appear to be self-inflicted. No other persons were present in the home when the child was discovered, and investigators do not believe there is any current danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing, no criminal charges have been filed, and no additional comment or information is expected to be released until the results of the autopsy are known.

“Young Mazikeen's death is tragic, regardless of how it was caused,” Weintraub said. “We are using all of our resources to determine if he is the victim of a homicide. This will take time. We ask for your assistance and your patience while we conduct this investigation."

He urged anyone having information pertinent to this investigation to call 215-945-0999.
