How to Apply For a Concealed Weapons Permit in
the County Of Bucks

Applicant must be a Bucks County resident and 21 years of age.

Applicant must have a current PA drivers license or PA identification card.

If applicant’s license or identification card does not have their current address, and they have an updated card, then they must also provide a current utility bill with their present address.

If applicant is a permanent resident alien or a resident alien, they must submit alien registration card (original), 90 days proof of residency (immediately prior utility bills, credit card statements, bank statements, pay stubs with current address, or health insurance statements). Also, resident aliens must provide a valid hunting license.

Application must be completed in its entirety, including names, addresses and telephone numbers of two references (not immediate family).

If applicant has ever been convicted of a misdemeanor one, a felony charge, crime of violence, drugs or any misdemeanor that is domestic related, they will be denied a permit to carry in the Commonwealth of PA.

The Sheriff’s office has forty-five days to issue or deny a permit. All efforts will be made to issue the permit as soon as the background check is approved.

You must apply in person - mail in applications are not accepted.

Application for a Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms

Applications are also available at the following offices:

Bucks County Justice Center, 100 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Gun Permit applications not accepted after 4:00 pm

Levittown Government Services Center, 7321 New Falls Road, Levittown. 
Weapons Permits: Tuesdays and Thursdays only –  8:30 am to 2:00 pm 
This office is closed until further notice, except for the above Weapons Permits Hours.

Quakertown Government Services Center, 261 California Road, Quakertown. 
Thursday, 8:30 am to 4 pm Gun Permit applications not Accepted after 3:30 pm
Notice: Gun Permits will not be accepted at this location until further notice.
