POSITION SUMMARY
:

Report to the Director of Corrections or his designee.  Responsible for the coordination of Department policies and procedures, preparation of divisional reports, and the coordination or completion of compliance reporting requirements to State and Federal Authorities. Acts as the Departmental Liaison for matters involving departmental litigation.                    

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of Department practices, policies, procedures and applicable laws, regulations or standards which guide the departments operations.
  • Must be competent in and act as the lead administrator of the department’s Policy and Procedures system. (Power DMS)
  • Review the S.O.P. on an on-going basis and recommend revisions and edits as required.
  • Reviews and maintains all policies and procedures to assure compliance with PADOC Title 37, ACA and any other reporting standards as assigned.
  • Act as a member of the Department’s PADOC Title 37 compliance and ACA accreditation team.
  • Prepares reports required.
  • Maintain a variety data bases for the purpose of report and analysis as directed.
  • Prepares and provides training on administrative process and compliance procedures relevant to assigned duties, work and systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferable in Criminal; Justice) or a combination of education and experience with a minimum of 5 years administrative duties related to Corrections
  • Must have knowledge of divisional operations.
  • Excellent communication, organization and writing skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information and data as well as standards.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team framework.
  • Possess knowledge of current legal processes and trends as they relate to Corrections.
  • Skilled and proficient in personal computer operation, word processing, spreadsheet, database applications and communications, i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Power DMS, OMSe (certifications preferred).Must have the ability to adapt to technological innovations within the Department.
