POSITION SUMMARY
:

Reports to the Deputy Warden of Programs and functions as a first level supervisor in the case management/program area.  Provides direct supervision to case management staff, assists with various administrative duties, and participates in the development and evaluation of programs and related policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise Case Managers to ensure performance of duties and compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assess, coordinate and/or provide training for case management staff.
  • Oversee classification, custody assessments, and responsible for overall management of the inmate population.
  • Responsible for scheduling and staffing assignments to ensure sufficient case management coverage.
  • Corresponds with courts, probation and parole agencies, local police departments and other criminal justice/social service agencies within the CHRIA guidelines.
  • Assist with development, coordination, and evaluation of programs and related policies.
  • Assist in the Department’s efforts of compliance with all PREA and Title 37 Standards.
  • Participate in various committees and provide feedback to Department leaders regarding potential recommended changes/updates.
  • May be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job.
  • Bridges gaps between Security, Medical, D&A and Mental Health.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (related field preferred).
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Case Manager, Community Corrections Officer, or Corrections Officer with the Department of Corrections or equivalent organization. Case management experience is required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and facility operating systems (CorTrak, Kronos, OMS, JNET, Telestaff).
  • Must possess effective communication skills. Candidate must have the ability to articulate and express ideas clearly in written format.
  • Must have the ability to work varied hours and days.
