POSITION SUMMARY:

Will be required to devote a minimum of four months per year to inputting all State and County candidates into the election management system and programming over 300 different ballot faces for voting machines.  Would also assist year round in registering voters and maintaining voter registration records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets up and programs voting machine ballots for all elections for each respective precinct, including producing initial working guide; creating working database; creating initial layouts of ballot faces; preparing templates of ballot faces; producing voting machine cartridges for over 300 different voting precincts; conducting the Central Automatic Tabulating Equipment test.
  • Maintains all voter registration records, including updating records (i.e., party, name or address change) and cancellation records.
  • Operates office equipment as required including, but not limited to, computer, photocopier, telephone, binding machine, fax, scanner, and election equipment, such as: ballot plotter, cartridge reader, etc.
  • Prepares material for delivery to polling locations.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Reports unusual conditions or questionable items to supervisor.
  • Ability to work effectively with the public, employees and other offices.
  • Employees may be required to perform additional work that follows prescribed or well-established procedures that can be learned within a reasonable time by training on the job.More detailed instructions will be given to employees at the beginning of work.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer experienced, with a keyboard accuracy skill of 40 wpm.
