POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the supervision of patrons using the swimming pool and facilities.  Lifeguards are the primary caretakers of the pool and perform maintenance and other tasks.  Reports directly to the Pool Manager or a Senior Guard.  Deals effectively with people of all ages.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As needed, assists Pool Manager with daily operations.

  • Enforces all department rules and regulations of the pool.
  • Maintains surveillance of patrons and enforces safety standards and procedures.
  • Assists or teaches lessons or other programs as assigned.
  • Performs a variety of maintenance tasks as scheduled/required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Current Lifeguard Training and CPR/First Aid certification.

  • WSI a plus.
  • Capable of working a flexible schedule of up to but not exceeding 40 hours per week including holidays and weekends (weather dependent).
  • Ability to assist with lessons and after hour pool rentals.
  • Possess good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
