Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia was elected to the Bucks County Board of Commissioners in November 2007, and was sworn in on January 7, 2008. She is a lifelong resident of Bucks County with family roots dating back to at least the 1700s.  Raised in Lower Makefield, she was graduated by Pennsbury High School, and now resides in Middletown Township, where she served her community on both the Neshaminy School Board and the Middletown Township Board of Supervisors. There, Commissioner Ellis-Marseglia has worked to preserve land & historic structures, and developed innovative programs that are funded without the use of taxes.

Commissioner Ellis-Marseglia has a long history of working with children and parents in Bucks County, and she advocates for responsive government that supports healthy families. She has served as chairperson of the Youth Aid Panel, coordinator of the Teen Task Force, and is a member of the Neshaminy Suicide Task Force.

 As a newly-elected commissioner, Commissioner Ellis-Marseglia comes with an aggressive agenda for improving services provided to children and the elderly.  She is focused on strengthening prison programs and firmly believes that quality mental health & drug and alcohol intervention can truly help people to change their lives. Recognized as a fiscal watchdog, Commissioner Ellis-Marseglia will assure taxpayers that their dollars will be spent on achievable, visible results.  She led the charge for open government in Middletown by working to televise public meetings, a transparency that she plans to bring to county government as well.

Commissioner Ellis-Marseglia holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware, (Sociology, Criminal Justice), and earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She is the mother of two children, Rebecca (deceased) and Katelyn, 17.
