Election Officials
Be a vital part in conducting elections with accuracy, integrity and
dignity.
The Office of the Bucks County Board of Elections needs over 1500 Election
Officials to work at the polls every election. You can join this team of
dependable and caring individuals who help ensure this basic right of U.S.
citizenship - to vote in fair and free elections.
Be a Judge of Elections, Inspector of Elections, or Minority Clerk, Serve
as a Guardian of our Democracy, and Safeguard our Democratic Process
What do Election Officials do?
Election officials are responsible for administering election
procedures in each polling place.
Duties include:
- Open and close the polls
- Set up voting equipment
- Register and sign-in voters
- Process absentee ballots
- Record vote totals
Who is eligible? To be an Election Official, you must:
- Be a Registered Voter
- Be able to read, write and speak English
- Attend a training class
What is the time commitment?
Election Officials work approximately 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Are Election Officials paid?
Yes. Election Officials are compensated.
Are Election Officials guaranteed time off from work?
Most employers are willing to work out arrangements.
What kind of training do Election Officials receive?
Classes are held throughout the County for Election Officials.
How can I become an Election Official?
Judge of Elections and Inspectors of Election are elected offices.
However, there are appointed positions in each polling place. Some
polls are adequately staffed, but there are some polling places that
are always in need of workers. Please fill out our online
