Bucks County Planning Commission
About Us
The Bucks County Planning Commission
(BCPC), an advisory board to the county commissioners, consists of nine
appointed members and a staff of 30 employees. The BCPC board members serves
without compensation and provide guidance and advice on planning and land
use issues. They meet the first Wednesday of every month to transact the
business of the commission. State laws, including the Pennsylvania Municipalities
Planning Code (Act 247) and the Sewage Facilities Planning Act (Act 537),
require that county planning commissions review plans of proposed development
and sewage facilities. Other state-mandated activities include stormwater
management planning for the county's watersheds.
The planning commission is also responsible for Open Space and Agricultural
Preservation Programs, recycling programs, and census information.
