SUMMARY: Opens mail, checks documents for validity in recording in accordance with Pennsylvania Laws and Statutes and prepares documents for data entry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Opens mail and distributes to office personnel.
  • Checks deeds for Township or Borough registry.
  • Checks mortgages, deeds and related documents for signatures, notaries and acknowledgments.
  • Prepares documents for bar coding in Board of Assessment Office.
  • Enters basic information into Landex System.
  • Assists public with general information about Recorder of Deeds’ computer system.
  • Performs related job duties as assigned by the Recorder of Deeds
  • Must be able to work effectively with other County offices and the public.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient in computer data entry with a keyboard skill of 35 wpm.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of Real Estate Instruments and Recording Acts.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of Wills and Intestacy terminology.
