In-Home Services

Trained aides can assist elderly clients in need with their personal care and other necessary tasks such as grocery shopping or laundry. This service may be privately obtained or may be subsidized by the Area Agency on Aging (AAA). In order to receive these services from the AAA, a person would have to be assessed by a social worker to determine the need.

The AAA also maintains a "Caregiver Registry" which is a list of people who are offering companionship and assistance with tasks of daily living to elderly persons on a regular, ongoing basis. This may include but is not limited to such things as light housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, supervision of medications and friendly visiting. The fee for this service is negotiated between the two parties.

The Caregiver Registry is provided as a public service by the AAA and does NOT represent that a person listed is in fact a suitable caregiver. It is the sole responsibility of the person seeking to employ a caregiver to determine the suitability of any person listed on the Registry.

For more information, call the AAA at 215-348-0510.
