Retired and Senior Volunteer Program

RSVP Volunteer Handbook 2011

The Bucks County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for older adults age 55 and over to engage in services that address educational, public safety, environmental, health/nutrition, economic development and other human needs to achieve direct and demonstrable results.

RSVP volunteers come from all economic, educational and social backgrounds and utilize their own talents and interest to help non-profit organizations address the full spectrum of community needs. Samples of volunteer activities include: crime prevention projects, disaster relief, health insurance counseling, tutoring, medication and drug education for seniors, tax assistance, telephone reassurance, senior center-based nutrition programs, driving for home-delivered meal programs, hospital service, intergenerational projects and MUCH MORE!

As an RSVP volunteer, you'll receive:

  • Free volunteer placement;
  • The opportunity to use your experience and skills;
  • The chance to learn something new every day;
  • Supplemental accident and liability insurance;
  • Recognition; and
  • The satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference.

RSVP is part of the National Senior Service Corps and is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service. In Bucks County, RSVP is sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging and the County Commissioners.

We invite you to join the 800+ Bucks County RSVP volunteers who provide more than 175,000 hours of service each year.
