Commissioner's Office of Public Information


Mission:
The mission of the Commissioners' Office of Public Information is to improve and maintain effective lines of communication and understanding between Bucks County government, employees and the public.

Department Overview:
The department strives to improve and maintain a positive perception of the County of Bucks by providing timely, credible, relevant, responsive information and activities to the people and employees of the county.

Public Information serves as a clearinghouse for all departments to ensure communications efforts are made toward our organization's shared objectives and vision.

Commissioner Martin with the Morris family during a tour of the Courthouse.The Commissioners' Office of Public Information is also responsible for the office management at the county's two government service centers (GSC) in Upper Bucks and Lower Bucks.

Public Information distributes information about county government to the media, arranges commissioners' public meetings, press conferences and special events, and is responsible for maintaining the county's official website, ww.buckscounty.org.

Public Information also prepares proclamations, letters of commendation and eagle scout citations awarded by the Bucks County Commissioners. Other responsibilities include county employee communications and informational literature.

Tours of the courthouse can be arranged to include the the Register of Wills, courtrooms, 9-1-1 center and more. Tours can be tailored to various age groups and interests. A minimum of one month notice is suggested to book all tours of the courthouse. Please see the following link for the tour registration form.

Referrals to county human services and government agencies are made through the department's offices in Doylestown, Quakertown and Levittown.

On April 17, Groveland Elementary School fourth-grader Brandon Morris stopped by the courthouse to research a school project. In addition to touring a courtroom, he had the opportunity to meet Commissioner Charley Martin in the fifth-floor administrative office. In this picture with the commissioner, Brandon is pictured with his younger brothers, who are proudly waving Bucks County flags. Commissioner Martin wishes Brandon and his classmates good luck on their government project.
