Wheat Sheaf Tile

"Wheat Sheaf" is the sixth in a series of tiles made exclusively for members of the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. This reissue will only be available to members beginning in May 2007 and will be retired from production in May 2008 .

Since ancient times, the wheat sheaf has been a recognizable symbol of the harvest. Henry C. Mercer originally created this special tile to represent the agricultural vitality of his native Bucks County. The simple, outlined design of the tile shows bundled stalks of grain set within a diagonal square, with a flourish of leaves in each outer corner.
