  • Don't rely on a verbal agreement, ask for it in writing
  • Don't let anyone pressure you into signing any document
  • Once you sign a contract, you are bound by the agreement
  • Keep copies for important documents
  • A contract for $50 signed at home gives you a 3-day right to cancel
  • Don't pay for labor before it's completed
  • If you are not satisfied with a product or service, put your complaint in writing
