Core Creek Park Boat Rental

Junior Boating Camp

Working with paddleboats, canoes and kayaks, participants learn the basics of boating safety and the fundamentals of paddling and rowing. Each student who completes the course receives a Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation Certificate of Completion. Wear a swimsuit and secure water shoes (no flip flops). Bring a towel, beverages, snacks and sunscreen.

Lake Towhee Park

Junior Fishing Camp

Kids will explore different locations which offer different fishing environments and water eco systems. Visits will be made to Lake Towhee Park, Lake Nockamixon, Tohickon Creek and the pond being Weisel Hostel.

Peace Valley Nature Center

Summer Art Workshops in the Park for Kids

Every Saturday morning in July a different workshop will be offered to children. Led by an accredited art teacher, children will explore the park and create artwork that reflects the beauty of nature and wildlife. The first session is Painting, the second session is Crafts, the third session is Sculpting and the forth session is Photography. Children can register for any number of weeks or for the entire series. Pre-registration is required, no later than June 24. Class size is limited to 12 children per session. World of Sciene Summer Camp

Experience real-life sciene dealing with solar-energy/wind/kinetic energy, hydro/hydrogen power and you energy. Build water balloon launchers, stomp rockets, solar cars and much more. Present an energy expo on the last day. Bring lunch and drink each day. For students entering 5th to 8th grades.

*All participants of THIS class (Peace Valley Park only) must show proof of swimming proficiency (i.e. from the YMCA, Red Cross, Scouts, Fanny Chapman or a school district with a certification of completion).

Beginner Junior Sailing Camp

This program will teach the basics of sailing knowledge of various types of sail boats, terminology, sailing skills, rules of the road, safety, rescues and practical experience handling a boat.

This course is taught by Dave Carroll, a former Scout Master and Boy Scout sailing instructor with over 50 years sailing experience all over the Atlantic Ocean. It is a requirement that all participants must show proof of swimming proficiency (i.e. YMCA, Scouts, Fanny Chapman, School District or Red Cross certificate of completion). The staff ratio is 1:8.

A practical test will be given at the end with a certificate of completion. Department staff will assist with the camp. Bring snacks, beverage and secure footwear.

Intermediate Junior Sailing Camp

Using the larger 14.6 Daysailer, students will have instruction for 2 hours with the final hour being proactive. The course will reinforce basic sailing skills and teach boat handling in all wind conditions. Students will sail on both a sloop and cat-rigged boat with and without and instructor. Students MUST have successfully completed the Beginner Junior Sailing Camp in order to enroll. The camp will again be taught by Dave Carroll a former Scout Master with over 50 years of lake, coastal and ocean sailing experience. A practical test will be given at the end with a certificate of completion. Boat rental staff will assist with the camp. Bring snacks, beverages, and secure footwear.

Full Day Camps

Children will have the chance to investigate water, woodland, marsh, bugs, crayfish, frogs and more though hands-on activities, game and natural crafts

Teens will enjoy a week of Kayaking Adventures and/or a week of Outdoor Adventures! Extended-stay options available for all ages!

Youth Services Center

Junior Adventure Camp

An educational and recreational program for kids. Using adventure activities such as rock climbing and hiking as tools, kids learn to develop confidence, cooperation, leadership and self-esteem.Each day will offer a different experience with activities including high/low ropes course work, paddling, group initiatives or hiking.

The radio of instructor to camper is 1:6. This camp is co-sponsored with Youth Services of Pennsylvania.
