District Attorney Staff

Michelle A. Henry
First Assistant District Attorney
As Bucks County’s First Assistant District Attorney, Ms. Henry is second in command of the District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Henry is a graduate of Widener University School of Law and has been with the office since 1996.  In addition to her administrative duties, Ms. Henry prosecutes all types of criminal cases including murders and major crimes. Ms. Henry is a founding member of the Bucks County Child Advocacy Center.

Matthew D. Weintraub
Chief of Prosecution
Mr. Weintraub is a graduate of Temple Law School.  He first joined the office as a legal intern in 1992.  In 1993, Mr. Weintraub joined the office full-time as an Assistant District Attorney.  Currently, Mr. Weintraub serves as Chief of Prosecution, and as a Trial Team Coordinator.  Mr. Weintraub is responsible for the prosecution of all manner of criminal cases, including homicides and other major crimes.

Daniel B. Sweeney
Chief of Staff/Chief of Drugs, Gangs, Forfeitures Division
Mr. Sweeney is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law and has been with the office since 2001. Mr. Sweeney is the Chief of the Narcotics and Forfeiture Division.  Mr. Sweeney is the District Attorney’s Office representative on the Bristol Weed and Seed program.  He also administers the Bucks County forfeiture program, which is one of the most successful in the state.  Mr. Sweeney also serves as a Trial Coordinator, as well as the Administrative Attorney for the office.

Robert D. James
Chief of Trials/Chief of Homicide by Vehicle Division
Mr. James is a graduate of the University of Arizona and Villanova University Law School, and has been with the office since 2002. Mr. James currently serves as the Chief of Trials and Chief of the Homicide by Vehicle Division. Mr. James also serves as Trial Coordinator and assists with staff development. Mr. James is a Gulf War veteran who served almost eight years in the United States Air Force. Mr. James coordinates the District Attorney's Veterans Treatment Diversion Program, which he designed and implemented. Outside of the office, Mr. James frequently lectures on Pennsylvania's DUI law. Mr. James is responsible for the prosecution of all manner of criminal cases, including homicides and other major crimes.

Stephen B. Harris
Chief of Appeals
Mr. Harris is a graduate of the Harvard Law School and has been with the office since 1968. Mr. Harris argues cases for the District Attorney’s Office in the state and federal appellate courts.

Karen A. Diaz
Chief of Legal Division
Ms. Diaz is a graduate of Temple University School of Law and has been with the office since 1989. In addition to trial work, Ms. Diaz coordinates and supervises appeals and post-conviction collateral challenges for all Bucks County criminal cases in both state and federal courts.  Ms. Diaz is the appeals officer for the District Attorney’s Office for appeals filed under the Pennsylvania Right to Know/Open Records Act.  Ms. Diaz is also the administrative attorney for the Bucks County Victim-Witness Unit. 

Michele Kelly Walsh
Chief of Juvenile Division
Ms. Walsh graduated from Temple Law School.  She first joined the District Attorney’s Office as a legal intern in 1996.  In 1997, Ms. Walsh joined the office full-time and later became a Chief Deputy District Attorney.  In 2002, she left the office to join the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office as a Deputy Attorney General.  She served there until 2007, when she rejoined the DA’s office as Chief of Juvenile Prosecutions.  Ms. Walsh coordinates and supervises all matters in juvenile court for the DA’s office. 

Marc J. Furber
Chief of Economic Crimes and Arson Division
Mr. Furber is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and joined the office in 2000 after serving as a legal intern during the summer of 1999.  Mr. Furber is Chief of the Economic Crimes and Arson Division and is responsible for overseeing the prosecution of economic crime, also referred to as financial or white collar crime.  He and the members of the Economic Crimes and Arson Division work to aggressively prosecute illegal activity including theft, fraud, forgery, embezzlement, contractor fraud and identity theft.  Mr. Furber is also responsible for maintaining a close working relationship with fire investigators and is actively involved in the investigation and prosecution of arson and fire related offenses.  Mr. Furber also serves as a Trial Coordinator as well as the Inter-Departmental Liaison to a number of county departments including but not limited to Adult Probation and Parole, the Department of Corrections, the Department of Mental Health and the Sheriff’s Department.

Jennifer M. Schorn
Chief of Major Crimes Division
Ms. Schorn is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law and has been with the office since 1999. Ms. Schorn currently serves as the Chief of Major Crimes Division.  Ms. Schorn prosecutes all types of criminal cases including murders and major crimes.  In addition to serving as a Trial Coordinator, she also serves as the coordinator for staff training and development.

Monica W. Furber
Chief of Special Victims Division-Child Victims
Mrs. Furber is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law and has been with the office since 2005.  She currently serves as the Chief of the Special Victims Division, concentrating on child victims.  In that capacity, Mrs. Furber oversees prosecutions involving child abuse, elder abuse, domestic abuse, and sex crimes.  Mrs. Furber acts as Health Department Liaison.  Before joining the DA’s office, Mrs. Furber previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County, PA.  

Nathaniel F. Spang
Deputy District Attorney
Mr. Spang is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and has been with the District Attorney's Office since 2005.  He is currently assigned to the Special Victims Division.  He also oversees state parole, pre-release, and pardon matters.  Mr. Spang previously served as an intern with the DA’s Office during law school.

Maureen F. Spang
Deputy District Attorney
Mrs. Spang is a graduate of the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2006. Before joining the DA’s Office, Mrs. Spang served as a law clerk to the Honorable William W. Caldwell, Senior District Judge, Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  Mrs. Spang is currently assigned to the Legal Division.  Mrs. Spang is an Open Records Officer for police departments located on the lower end of the county.

Abigail T. Fillman
Deputy District Attorney
Ms. Fillman is a graduate of Temple University, Beasley School of Law where she received honors for trial advocacy.  She joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2007.  She is currently assigned to the Child Abuse Section of the Special Victims Division.  She was previously a legal intern in the District Attorney’s office in Chester County. 

Steven M. Jones
Deputy District Attorney
Mr. Jones is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law.  He joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2007.  Mr. Jones is currently assigned to oversee crimes against Older Adults for the Special Victims Division.  Mr. Jones also reviews petitions for the expungment of criminal records.  Mr. Jones also acts as one of the attorney advisors for the Bensalem High School Mock Trial Team.

Matthew E. Hoover
Deputy District Attorney
Mr. Hoover is a graduate of the Dickinson School of Law of Penn State University.  He joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2008.  He is currently assigned to the Homicide by Vehicle Division.  In addition, Mr. Hoover is assigned to review Private Criminal Complaints.

Ryan L. Hyde
Deputy District Attorney
Mr. Hyde joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2009.  He is a graduate of Villanova University School of Law.  Mr. Hyde is assigned to the Economic Crime and Arson Division.  Mr. Hyde is also assigned to review Computer Crimes.  Prior to law school, Mr. Hyde worked in the pharmaceutical industry for seven years.

Christopher W. Rees
Deputy District Attorney
Mr. Rees is a graduate of the Temple University, Beasley School of Law.  He joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2009.  Mr. Rees is currently assigned to the Special Victims Division.  Mr. Rees is also assigned to review Computer Crimes and Private Criminal Complaints.  Mr. Rees previously served as an intern at the DA’s office while in law school.  Prior to law school, Mr. Rees worked in South Carolina as the Internet Director for a television station and as Marketing Coordinator for a law firm.

Thomas C. Gannon
Deputy District Attorney
Mr. Gannon is a graduate of Temple University, Beasley School of Law.  Mr. Gannon is currently assigned to the Legal Division.  He previously served as an intern at the District Attorney’s Office.  He joined the DA’s office in 2009.

Lindsay E. Vaughan
Deputy District Attorney
Ms. Vaughan joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2010.  She is a graduate of Temple University, Beasley School of Law.  Ms. Vaughan is assigned to the Narcotics, Gangs and Forfeitures Division.  In addition to her other duties, Ms. Vaughan is currently assigned to administer the office law library. Ms. Vaughan served as a legal clerk for the former Honorable David W. Heckler of the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.

Courtney F. Crowley
Assistant District Attorney
Mrs. Crowley is a graduate of the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.  She joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2009.  Prior to joining the DA’s office, Mrs. Crowley served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Wallace H. Bateman in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.  She is currently assigned to the Special Victims Division and to review Private Criminal Complaints.  In addition to her duties, Mrs. Crowley is also assigned to legal updates.

Jay H. Karsch
Assistant District Attorney
Mr. Karsch joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2010.  He graduated from Temple University School of Law.  He is assigned to the Economic Crime and Arson Division.  Mr. Karsch is also assigned to legal updates.  He was previously a member of the Law Firm of Eastburn and Gray prior to joining the DA’s office. 

Alan J. Garabedian
Assistant District Attorney
Mr. Garabedian joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2010.  He is a graduate of Earle Mack School of Law at Drexel University.  He previously served as an intern at the DA’s office.  Mr. Garabedian is assigned to the Economic Crime and Arson Division.

Michelle Laucella
Assistant District Attorney
Ms. Laucella is a 2010 graduate of Villanova University School of Law.  Prior to joining the District Attorney’s Office Ms. Laucella served as an intern with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.  In May of 2009 Ms. Laucella began as an intern with the office conducting preliminary hearings, summary trials and assisting with the drafting of briefs.  In May 2011 Ms. Laucella joined the office on a full time basis.  Ms. Laucella is assigned to the Legal Division.

Lyndsey MacNair
Assistant District Attorney
Ms. MacNair is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and previously worked for the District Attorney’s Office in the Special Victims Division from 2004 through 2008.  She specialized in cases involving sexual assault and child abuse.  In 2010 Ms. MacNair rejoined the office on a part time basis and handles preliminary hearings and screening of cases. 

Antonetta Stancu
Assistant District Attorney
Ms. Antonetta Stancu is a 2003 graduate of Hofstra University's Maurice A. Dean School of Law.  Ms. Stancu has served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York, an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas and a Special Prosecutor to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office prior to joining the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office in 2012.  Ms. Stancu's responsibilities include preliminary and contempt hearings.

Thomas N. Logan
Assistant District Attorney
Mr. Logan joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2012.  He graduated from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.  Mr. Logan was a deputy prosecutor in Indiana before joining the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office office.  He also worked in private practice in Indiana for approximately four years. 

Kristi B. Mann
Assistant District Attorney
Ms. Mann joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2012.  She is a graduate of Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law.  She previously served as an intern for the office beginning in 2010.  She is currently assigned to the Narcotics, Gangs and Forfeitures Division.

Chelsey D. Crocker
Assistant District Attorney
Ms. Crocker is a graduate of Widener University School of Law. She is a Bucks County native and graduated from Council Rock High School and Penn State University. She began interning for the Bucks County DA’s office in May of 2010. Ms. Crocker is assigned to the Special Victims Division.

Kristin M. McElroy
Assistant District Attorney
Kristin McElroy joined the District Attorney’s office in 2012.  She is a graduate of Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law.  During law school, Ms. McElroy worked as a legal intern for the office.  She is currently assigned to the Special Victims Division.

Matthew S. Lannetti
Assistant District Attorney
Mr. Lannetti joined the District Attorney’s Office in 2012.  He is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law.   Mr. Lannetti previously served as an intern with the office, conducting preliminary hearings and drafting legal documents. Prior to joining the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Lannetti served as an intern with the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General.

Kate Kohler
Assistant District Attorney
Kate joined the District Attorney's Office in 2013. She is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law. During law school Ms. Kohler interned for the Chester County District Attorney's Office. She is currently assigned to the Special Victims Division.

Jonathan Long
Assistant District Attorney
Jonathan joined the District Attorney's Office in 2013.  He is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law.  During law school Mr. Long interned for the Chester County District Attorney's Office.  He is currently assigned to the Narcotics and Forfeiture Division.
