Meet the Attorneys

David W. Zellis
First Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Zellis is a graduate of the Emory University School of Law and has been with the office since 1985. Mr. Zellis is one of the District Attorney’s Office lead prosecutors as well as the head of the Bucks County Investigative Grand Jury. Mr. Zellis also serves as the Chief of Crimes Against Older Adults and is on the Bucks County Crimes Against Older Adults Task Force.

Stephen B. Harris
Chief of Appeals

Mr. Harris is a graduate of the Harvard Law School and has been with the office since 1968. Mr. Harris argues cases for the DA’s Office’s in the state and federal appellate courts.

T. Gary Gambardella
Chief of Career Criminal Division

Mr. Gambardella is a graduate of the Western New England College School of Law and has been with the office since 1987.  Mr. Gambardella is one of the District Attorney’s Office lead prosecutors and is charged with identifying and prosecuting individuals who are identified as career criminals.  Mr. Gambardella is cross-designated as an Assistant United States Attorney under Project Safe Neighborhoods, which allows some career criminals to be prosecuted federally.

Karen A. Diaz
Chief of Legal Division

Ms. Diaz is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and has been with the office since 1989. Ms. Diaz coordinates and oversees all prosecutions involving mental health concerns.  Ms. Diaz oversees appellate matters in federal and state court.

Jennifer M. Schorn
Chief of Pre-Trial Division

Ms. Schorn is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law and has been with the office since 1999. Ms. Schorn currently serves as the Chief of Pre-Trial Division.  In that capacity, she oversees the prosecution of cases at preliminary hearings throughout the county.  Ms. Schorn also coordinates the office’s internship and externship programs.  She formerly served as the Chief of Special Victims.

Michele Kelly Walsh
Chief of Juvenile Division

Ms. Walsh graduated from Temple Law School.  She first joined the DA’s office as a legal intern in 1996.  In 1997 Ms. Walsh joined the office full-time and later became a Chief Deputy District Attorney.  In 2002 she left the office to join the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office as a Deputy Attorney General.  She served there until 2007, when she rejoined the DA’s office as Chief of Juvenile Prosecutions.  Ms. Walsh coordinates and supervises all matters in juvenile court for the DA’s office. 

Marc J. Furber
Chief of Economic Crimes and Arson Division

Mr. Furber is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and has been with the office since 2000.  Mr. Furber specializes in prosecutions involving arson.  He serves as a trial coordinator as well as overseeing the Economic Crimes Division.

Robin C. Twombly
Chief of Trial Division

Mrs. Twombly is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law and has been with the office since 2000. Mrs. Twombly currently serves as the Chief of Trial Division.  In that capacity, she oversees how serious cases are pre-assigned to Assistant District Attorneys, and manages trial issues that may arise between the courts and the DA’s office.  Ms. Twombly also serves as a Trial Coordinator.

Daniel B. Sweeney
Chief of Narcotics and Forfeiture Division

Mr. Sweeney is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law and has been with the office since 2001. Mr. Sweeney is the Chief of the Narcotics and Forfeiture Division.  Mr. Sweeney is the DA’s Office representative on the Bristol Weed and Seed program.  He also administers the Bucks County forfeiture program, which is one of the most successful in the state.  Mr. Sweeney also serves as a Trial Coordinator, as well as the Administrative Attorney for the office.

Anthony C. Cappuccio
Chief of Homicide by Vehicle Division

Mr. Cappuccio is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and has been with the office since 2002.  Mr. Cappuccio currently serves as the Chief of Homicide by Vehicle Prosecutions.  In addition to serving as a trial coordinator, Mr. Cappuccio also serves as Chief of Grand Jury, where he oversees special investigations conducted by the Bucks County Investigatory Grand Jury. 

Robert D. James
Chief of Gang Division

Mr. James is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law and has been with the office since 2002.  Mr. James currently serves as the Chief of Gang Division.  Mr. James also serves as a trial coordinator and also coordinates training and staff development.  Outside of the office, he frequently lectures on Pennsylvania’s DUI law.   

Lyndsey Koches MacNair
Chief of Special Victims Division

Mrs. MacNair is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University Dickenson School of Law and has been with the office since October of 2004.  She currently serves as the Chief of Special Victims Division.  The special victims division addresses prosecutions involving domestic abuse, child abuse, elder abuse, as well as sex crimes.  Mrs. MacNair also assists in training and staff development. 

Monica W. Furber
Deputy Chief of Special Victims Division

Mrs. Furber is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law and has been with the office since 2005.  She currently serves as the Deputy Chief of the Special Victims Division, which oversees prosecutions involving child abuse, elder abuse, domestic abuse, and sex crimes.  Before joining the DA’s office, Mrs. Furber previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County, PA.  

Robert J. Salzer
Senior Deputy District Attorney

Mr. Salzer is a graduate of the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and has been with the office since 2005.  He is currently assigned to the Homicide by Vehicle Division. Before joining the DA’s Office, Mr. Salzer served as a legal clerk for the Honorable Robert J. Mellon of the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Salzer coordinates the DA’s office’s community outreach efforts.  He also oversees the county’s ARD program. 

Nathaniel F. Spang
Deputy District Attorney

Mr. Spang is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and has been with the office since August of 2005.  He is currently assigned to the Child Abuse section of the Special Victims Division.  He also oversees state parole, pre-release, and pardon matters.  Mr. Spang previously served as an intern with the DA’s Office during law school.

Sara Johnson Rothman
Deputy District Attorney

Mrs. Rothman is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and has been with the office since August of 2005.  She is currently assigned to lead the Domestic Abuse section of the Special Victim’s Division.  Mrs. Rothman also supervises contempt issues related to PFA orders.  She is the DA’s Office representative for the Violence Against Women Association.  Mrs. Rothman previously served as an Intern with the DA’s Office during law school.

Laura M. Siegle
Assistant District Attorney

Ms. Siegle is a graduate of the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law School of Law and joined the DA’s Office in 2006. Before joining the office, Ms. Siegle worked for the law firm of Worth, Magee & Fisher, P.C.  Ms. Siegle is currently assigned to the Gangs Division.  Ms. Siegle also assists with cases before the investigative grand jury.   

Mark Cheramie Walz
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Cheramie Walz is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law and joined the DA’s Office in 2006.  He is currently assigned to the Child Abuse section of the Special Victims Division.  Mr. Cheramie Walz also oversees computer crimes for the DA’s office.  He frequently lectures in the community to both students and parents on internet and computer safety.  He is also assigned to oversee small games of chance within the county.   

Christina M. Stephanos
Assistant District Attorney

Mrs. Stephanos is a graduate of the Rutgers University School of Law-Camden and joined the DA’s Office in 2006. Before joining the DA’s Office, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Octavia Melėndez, J.S.C., Superior Court Judge – Family Division, New Jersey Superior Court . Mrs. Stephanos is currently assigned to the Narcotics and Forfeiture Division. 

Edward M. Louka
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Louka is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law and joined the DA’s Office in 2006.  He is currently assigned to the Adult Sex Crimes section of the Special Victim’s Division.  Mr. Louka also assists in the administration of the DA’s office internship and externship programs.   

Maureen A. Flannery
Assistant District Attorney

Ms. Flannery is a graduate of the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and joined the DA’s Office in 2006. Before joining the DA’s Office, Ms. Flannery served as a law clerk to the Honorable William W. Caldwell, Senior District Judge, Federal District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.  Ms. Flannery is currently assigned to the Legal Division.  She also manages requests for the expungement of criminal records. 

Danielle A. Peters
Assistant District Attorney

Ms. Peters is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law and joined the DA’s Office in 2006. Before joining the DA’s Office, Ms. Peters served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Raymond A. Batten, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey – Law Division – Criminal . Ms. Peters is currently assigned to the Elder Abuse section of the Special Victims Division.  She is also assigned to assist in the administration of the county’s ARD program.

Blake M. Jackman
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Jackman is a graduate of Temple University, Beasley School of Law.  He joined the DA’s office in 2007.  Mr. Jackman is currently assigned to the Homicide by Vehicle Division.  He is also charged with the office’s Juvenile Alcohol Awareness Program.  Mr. Jackman also reviews miscellaneous legal petitions for the DA’s office. 

Thomas Distefano
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Distefano is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law.  He joined the DA’s office in 2007.  Mr. Distefano is currently assigned to the Narcotics and Forfeiture Division.  He also supervises the review of Private Criminal Complaints, and Nunc Pro Tunc appeals.

Daniel J. O’Riordan
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. O’Riordan is a graduate of the Villanova University School of Law.  He joined the DA’s office in 2007.  Mr. O’Riordan is currently assigned to the Economic Crime and Arson Division.  He serves as the office Emergency Response Liaison.  Mr. O’Riordan also reviews private criminal complaints. 

Michael K. Martin
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Martin is a graduate of Widener University School of Law.  He joined the DA’s office in 2007.  Mr. Martin is currently assigned to the Domestic Abuse section of the Special Victims Division.  He also supervises the licensure of private detectives within the county. 

Holly E. Smith
Assistant District Attorney

Ms. Smith is a graduate of Widener University School of Law.  She joined the DA’s office in 2007.  Before coming to the DA’s office, she served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Jeffrey L. Finley in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.  Prior to law school, Ms. Smith received her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology.  Ms. Smith is currently assigned to the Child Abuse Section of the Special Victims Division.  She also serves as the liaison to the Office of Inspector General regarding the prosecution of Welfare Fraud cases.   

Abigail T. Fillman
Assistant District Attorney

Ms. Fillman is a graduate of Temple University, Beasley School of Law where she received honors for trial advocacy.  She joined the DA’s office in 2007.  She is currently assigned to the Legal Division.  She was previously a legal intern in the District Attorney’s office in Chester County.  Ms. Fillman also reviews private criminal complaints. 

Robert F. Manzi
Assistant District Attorney 

Mr. Manzi is a graduate of the Widener University School of law.  He joined the DA’s office in 2007.  During law school and graduate school, Mr. Manzi worked in the Juvenile Justice field.  He is currently assigned to the Economic Crime and Arson division.  He also serves as the office liaison to the Department of Health, and is also the liaison for Housing Fraud Initiatives.

Steven M. Jones
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Jones is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law.  He joined the DA’s office in 2007.  Mr. Jones is currently assigned to the Gangs Division.

Adam Tanker
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Tanker is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg.  He joined the DA’s office in 2008.  In addition to his other duties, Mr. Tanker is assigned to review private criminal complaints.

Josh Tebay
Assistant District Attorney

Mr. Tebay is a graduate of the Widener University School of Law.  He joined the DA’s office in 2008.  In addition to his other duties, Mr. Tebay is assigned to administer the office law library.
