Passport Day in the USA
March 10, 2012

Bucks County Prothonotary Passport offices to host Saturday Passport Fairs.

WHAT:

Again this year, Bucks County Prothonotary Patricia L. Bachtle is joining the Department of State in celebrating “Passport Day in the USA,” a national passport acceptance and outreach event. Two Bucks County Prothonotary offices will host Passport Fairs to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications. Regular weekday passport processing hours (8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.; and 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month extended hours in the Courthouse for passports only from 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.) are still in effect.

On June 1, 2009, the last phase of WHTI (Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative) took effect requiring all U.S. citizens to present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry.

Information on the cost and how to apply for a passport book and/or a passport card is available at www.buckscounty.org and at travel.state.gov. U.S. citizens may also obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778.
