Community Information
We're In Support
Every
year the Clerk of Courts office tries to give back to the community.
The tragic events that took place on September 11, 2001 and the ongoing
war on terrorism have impacted the country in a significant way.
We support our troops and pray for their safe return.
Robert Pollock is a Sergeant in the United States
Army, and a Bucks County employee who is serving in Iraq. The Clerk
of Courts office has been sending care packages to him in an effort
to provide some comfort from home. Our thoughts and prayers go out
to his family and to all the families of the men and women serving
in the armed forces.
Our Community
For the past seven years
the Clerk of Courts office has participated in fundraising for the
American Cancer Society. Each year the team members from the Clerk
of Courts set a goal for the amount of money they would like to raise
and every year the goal has been surpassed. This year over $4,000.00
has been raised for The American Cancer society. There was a special
reason to set the fundraising goal higher this year. The Clerk of
Courts office lost two employees who were battling cancer Ginger
Hoch and Jody Helmuth. They might have lost their fight, but we will
never forget them.
There were several fundraisers that contributed to the overall success
of the team in reaching the goal. There was a group effort this year
in making seven different holiday baskets to be raffled. Employees
from the Clerk of Courts office donated the gifts for the baskets
and spent their time publicizing the event. It is because of their
dedication and willingness to help others that this fundraiser was
a tremendous success. Another noteworthy event sponsored by The Clerk
of Courts office was the sale of Roses for Valentine's Day. By donating
a few dollars everyone was able to support a wonderful cause and
bring a smile to a loved one's face. The sale of the roses raised
over $700.00. Additionally, T-shirts were designed to commemorate
the Bucks County Courthouse and were sold for $10.00 each. They featured
the first two historical courthouses and the current courthouse that
was built in 1960's. The t-shirts were available in a multitude of
colors and sizes, making them very popular among county employees.
Another fundraiser that the Clerk of Courts office participated
in was the first annual Joseph D. Helmuth Memorial Golf Classic at
Talamore Country Club. Each member of the office contributed a donation
in honor of our former co-worker Jody Helmuth. His life was tragically
cut short due to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The golf outing raised over
$12,000.00 and the monies went to the Helmuth Educational Fund and
the Lymphoma Research Foundation. The Clerk of Courts office also
participates every year in Bowl for Kids' Sake. This is a fundraiser
for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County. Proceeds benefit children
in Bucks County in need of mentoring and companionship. The Clerk
of Courts office would like to thank the generosity of the community
in making every fundraiser a success.
