Passport Day in the USA -- Saturday, March 28, 2009
Beginning June 1, 2009, all US citizens entering the US from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land crossings and sea ports can do so only with a passport or passport card. Driver’s licenses and a birth certificates will no longer be accepted.
On Saturday March 28, 2009 The US State Department will be opening all of its Passport Acceptance offices for “Passport Day In The USA”; an outreach effort for those that wish to apply for a US Passport.

The Prothonotary serves as an agent for the Federal Government for the purpose of processing Passport applications.
Passports take about 6 to 8 weeks for processing by mail. (Expedited service is available.)
