County Public Information Director Called to Active Duty
Bucks County Public Information Director
Stacey Martin will soon
receive orders
bringing the 14-year Army Reservist onto temporary active duty. Martin, a captain,
will be mobilized to Fort Dix, New Jersey where she will conduct leadership
training for units deploying in support of the nation's Global War on Terrorism.
From January 2003 to February 2004, she served a 15-month tour of duty in Kuwait
and Iraq as a military police company commander, and as a result, has been
selected to prepare other commanders and key leaders for a successful tour.
Chief Operating Officer David Sanko announced today that Patricia Wandling,
deputy director, will step into the position as acting director during Martin's
absence, beginning on June 13. The department will continue its role of meeting
the information needs of employees and the public.
Sanko emphasized the county's support for Martin and all Reservists who add
richness to the workforce through their military experiences. "We are proud
of Stacey and look forward to her return sometime early next year."
