Community Corrections Officer Named Adult Corrections Professional of the Year

Bucks County Community Corrections Manager, Robert D. Pollock, was named Adult Corrections Professional of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association on Probation, Parole and Corrections (PAPPC) at the annual awards ceremony, held June 7 in Hershey, PA.

Community Corrections is a growing program with expansion of current programs and the addition of new programs. In the midst of change, Pollock was deployed with his Army Reservist unit and served a year in Iraq. He returned in May 2004 and quickly reacclimated to his duties at the community corrections center.

Mr. Pollack works with all departments in the criminal justice system. He is the lead staff for three new initiatives in Bucks County: Pretrail, Day Reporting, and as the facilitator for a newly formed Criminal Justice Advisory Board. He is also lead staff for all automation and is working on implementation of a new jail management system to be used in all three Bucks County Correctional Facilities.

Mr. Pollack began as the community corrections manager in February 2002 after over 25 years in adult probation and parole. He provides all conflict control training for probation/parole officer, community corrections officers and other county agencies if requested.

Director of Corrections Harris Gubernick notes that Pollock not only was able to smoothly return to his work environment and duties, but also has managed to excel in them.

"He has been a very effective leader and continues to create and follow through with new initiatives and programs," said Gubernick.
