Adult Probation Chief Receives Founder's Award

On June 7 Francis Crumley was honored by the Middle Atlantic States Correctional Association (MASCA) at their annual awards program in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Mr. Crumley was named co-recipient of the 2005 Founders Career Award, which honors the memory and spirit of the founding members of MASCA, who organized a regional association in 1938 to promote inner-state cooperation and professional training.

Mr. Crumley has been the chief adult probation and parole officer in Bucks County for the past 29 years, where he and his staff provide services for the courts and community-based supervision of offenders placed under Bucks County's jurisdiction. He uses core values such as integrity, accountability and trust to assist the offender in becoming integrated into the community as a non-violent, crime-free contributing member of society.

For over 25 years, Mr. Crumley has been a member of the MASCA Board of Trustees. During this time his primary interest has been the fiscal well being of the organization, serving on the finance committee, including three years as committee chair.

"Frank Crumley is a dedicated officer, who has devoted his time, not only to making the county system, but the country's correction system, better," said Director of Corrections, Harris Gubernick.
