Commissioner Cawley Named to State Commissioners
Association Board of Directors
Bucks County Commissioner James F. Cawley, Esq. was elected to the
County Commissioners Association of PA (CCAP) Board of Directors
for 2006 as the Association wrapped up its 2005 annual conference
in Hershey this week.
As a board member, Cawley will represent District V in southeastern Pennsylvania,
which encompasses Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
"The Association serves to strengthen the ability of Pennsylvania's counties
to govern their own affairs and improve the well-being and quality of life for
their constituents," Cawley said. "To this end, the Association affects the achievement
of favorable state legislation, programs and policies, and provides appropriate
programs and services to member counties.
"I know how these issues impact us locally," he said. "We share many of the same
challenges as other counties statewide. As a leader of this Association, I can
make a stronger voice for Bucks County in Harrisburg, Washington, D.C., all of
Pennsylvania."
Bucks County Commissioner Chairman Charles H. Martin and Commissioner Sandra
A. Miller and Chief Operating Officer David M. Sanko also attended the three-day
conference.
Founded in 1886, CCAP promotes the common interests of counties and a better
understanding of county government by federal, state and local elected officials
as well as private citizens. It represents county government on issues before
the state and federal governments and provides services and educational opportunities
for its members.
CCAP is a statewide, nonprofit, bipartisan association representing commissioners,
chief clerks, administrators and their equivalents in home rule counties, and
solicitors of Pennsylvania's 67 counties.
