IVYLAND VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY CENTENNIAL YEAR
The Commissioners issued the proclamation in recognition of 100 years of service
to the community.

NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH
September 2005 was proclaimed National Preparedness Month throughout Bucks County
to encourage all residents to have an emergency plan and supply kits, and to
get involved in helping their communities to prepare.

OVARIAN CANCER AWARENESS MONTH
The Commissioners were presented with turquoise bracelets, in honor of Ovarian
Cancer awareness. The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition fundraiser, the seventh
annual "Walk for the Whisper" will be held on Sept. 11.

BARBERSHOP HARMONY SOCIETY WEEK
A Proclamation was issued declaring September 12 through 17, 2005 as "BARBERSHOP
HARMONY SOCIETY WEEK" throughout the County of Bucks. The commissioners urge
all Bucks Countians to participate in the society's open houses, and to enjoy
the music offered by the local chapters.

FASD (Fetal Alchol Spectrum Disorders) AWARENESS DAY
The Commissioners declared September 9 as FASD Awareness Day. The Bucks County
Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence is working on prevention and awareness
of the dangers of drinking alcohol while pregnant.
