Health Department to Spray Mosquitoes in Bristol Township
The Bucks County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania
Department of Environmental Protection, will spray adult mosquitoes
tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 30) in two Bristol Township locations.
Spraying will take place on Woodlawn Drive, a residential neighborhood, and
Silver Lake Park in the early evening hours. There will be no aerial spraying.
High populations of adult mosquitoes capable of transmitting West Nile Virus
have been found in those areas.
There are two reported (human) cases of West Nile virus in Bucks County. County
health department officials urge residents to continue to take precautions.
Those mosquitoes that remain alive during these early fall weeks are testing
positive for the virus in large numbers. More spraying is planned.
