Commissioners Announce Bucks County Disaster Recovery Center to Close 7 P.M., Wednesday, July 26
The Bucks County Commissioners have announced the county’s Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will close at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26. Word came from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.
Federal, state and county agencies have been providing assistance to recent flood victims at the DRC since it opened on Friday, July 14 at New Hope/Solebury High School, 180 W. Bridge Street in New Hope. As of today, approximately 130 Bucks County flood victims have sought help.
“We are urging any residents who still need assistance, to begin the process by calling FEMA, and visiting the disaster recovery center for helpful information and services,” said Commissioner Chairman James F. Cawley, Esq.
Interested county residents should call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) to initiate the process by phone before they visit the DRC.
Among the governmental agencies represented at the DRC are the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency, Bucks County Department of Health (offering mental health counseling and water test kits,) as well as the county’s Area Agency on Aging, (providing information on meals and other in-home services for senior citizens.)
