Bucks County Commissioners Announce Another Busy Week of BUCKS VOTES Public Education
Just over three weeks remain until the Nov. 7 General Election, and the Bucks County Commissioners continue to demonstrate their full commitment to the BUCKS VOTES educational initiative.
“We are diligently working in concert with many different community organizations. With our partners, the League of Women Voters, we are working with groups such as the Bucks County Chapter of the NAACP and others in trying to maximize the number of Bucks Countians who are familiar with how our new machines work,” said commissioners’ Chairman James F. Cawley, Esq.
As of Oct. 10, the combined array of county and League of Women Voters’ officials had conducted 107 educational sessions in 42 Bucks municipalities. That same day, the commissioners and Chief Operating Officer David M. Sanko took steps to ensure that each of the county’s 54 municipalities will have at least one event before the election. Furthermore, during those sessions, over 20,000 residents have participated on the demonstration machines, while BUCKS VOTES officials have distributed more than 60,000 brochures.
Today, the commissioners announced another week of venues for the program, which has met with overwhelmingly positive feedback.
These dates are in addition to the two permanent sites established for demonstrations, at the Bucks County Courthouse (55 E. Court St., Doylestown) on the second floor, and at the Lower Bucks Government Service Center in Levittown ( 7321 New Falls Rd. Levittown).
For additional voter training, viewers can watch the training video as many times as they want, at any time, via ON DEMAND from Comcast. The video will be located in the “BUCKS VOTES” folder under the Get Local menu of ON DEMAND.
