Bucks County Hosts Methamphetamine Drill
Officials from U.S. Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Agency & Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Join Commissioners for Methamphetamine Awareness Day

Bucks County Commissioners’ Chairman Jim Cawley today moderated a Doylestown Borough Commissioner Cawley speaks at the Methamphetamine Drill as U.S. Attorney Patrick Meehan, Commissioner Sandra Miller,Captain Dave Young of the PA State Police  and others look onceremony aimed at heightened awareness of a methamphetamine problem in our communities. As part of the November 30 designation of “National Methamphetamine Awareness Day,” Cawley told a large crowd that included 60 Central Bucks West High School students, “If you take one thing out of this, it is that methamphetamine will destroy your life. Cawley and fellow commissioners Charley Martin and Sandra Miller welcomed Patrick Meehan, U.S. Attorney for Eastern Pennsylvania. Meehan delivered a strong message, claiming, “ Crystal meth is on the road to death.” The U.S. Attorney also praised the collaborative efforts of all the agencies involved with today’s exercise, which included a simulated methamphetamine lab Doylestown Police Officer Paul Kreuter leads away a pretend meth lab perpetrator, played by Tim Philpot of the Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.bust held inside a county-owned garage.

“The methamphetamine problem is widespread, so the solution must be widespread,” Cawley said before DEA Special Agent Patrick Trainor coordinated the demonstration.

Also on hand for the drill were Drug Enforcement Agency representative James Kasson, Bucks County District Attorney Diane Gibbons, Doylestown Borough Mayor Libby White and Police Chief James Donnelly, and Tim Philpot of the Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
