Bucks County Commissioners, Board of Elections Announce Realignment, Consolidation of Voting Districts

In a continuing effort to keep Bucks County’s more than 300 voting districts in demographic balance, ensuring equitable traffic at each polling place, the Board of Elections yesterday approved the realignment of seven districts, the consolidation of one and the relocation of two others.

The seven realigned districts, which were approved by board Chairman James F. Cawley, Esq., and Commissioners Charles H. Martin and Sandra A. Miller, will take effect during the upcoming May 15 primary elections, include:

  • East Rockhill #1 and #2, which both will have approximately 1,800 voters;
  • Warminster Twp. #11 and #14, which will have between 1,840 and 1,895 apiece;
  • Bensalem Twp. LM1, LM2 and Upper West, which will have 950-1,400 each.

The consolidation involves Bensalem Twp. Lower West 1 and Lower West 2, which have been combined to total 1,636 registered voters at what will now be known as the Lower West location. According to Cawley, this consolidation caused a ripple effect with some Bensalem voting districts, necessitating realignment along census-accepted boundaries such as roads, rivers or railroads.

The two relocations will take place at Doylestown Borough 3-2, which will move from Keystone Motors, at 235 S. Main St., to the Boy Scouts Council, at One Scout Way; and Warrington Twp. #3, which will shift from St. Paul’s Methodist Church, at Palomino & Shetland Drs., to St. Robert Bellarmine Church, at 856 Euclid Ave.

The realignments leave Bucks County with 306 polling places. For more information, view the Board of Elections Polling Places

In addition, Bucks County independent voters are reminded that, although they cannot vote for candidates during the May 15 primary, they can and are encouraged to vote on primary ballot questions.
