Bucks County Commissioners, Row Officers Highlight 19th Annual Bucks County St. Patrick's Day Parade

Miller joined Sheriff Edward “Duke” Donnelly and Clerk of Courts Mary Smithson and thousands of emerald-green clad Bucks County celebrants during the 19th Annual Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade, March 10 in Falls Twp.

The 2007 event, which marched down New Falls Rd. to the theme, “Ireland, Land of Our Fathers,” included floats, a string band, multiple bagpipe units, Irish dance troops, Cub and Boy Scouts, cheerleaders and fire companies – all decked out in various shamrock hues.

Dennis Mooney pose for a picture during the parade.Miller has been a parade leader since its inception, serving as president of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee, in addition to multiple other roles over the last two decades. Cawley is also heavily entrenched in parade leadership as a member of the Parade Committee.

Acting as this year’s Grand Marshal was the Rev. Dennis Mooney, pastor of Bristol’s St. Mark Parish. Mooney also serves as chaplain of all Bucks County divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.Sheriff Duke Donnelly at the St. Patrick's Day Parade

 

Miller, who served as Grand Marshal for the 1992 parade, marched alongside her husband, Bob Quinn, who was the Grand Marshal in 1997. As Cawley walked with Smithson, Donnelly followed with the Sheriff’s Department community service vehicle, passing out “Junior Deputy Sheriff” badges to youngsters along the route.
