Bucks County Commissioners Approve Contract for Printing of 2007 Board of Elections Materials
Hauling Rates for New Machines Represent Significant Savings

Bucks County Commissioners Charles H. Martin, James F. Cawley, Esq. and Sandra A. Miller today approved an $89,838 contract for printing elections materials to be used during the May 15, 2007 Primary Election and the Nov. 6, 2007 General Election.

The contract covers the printing of absentee, sample ballots, provisional and retention ballots, as well as statement of canvass forms (also known as return sheets).

In addition to the printing contract, the commissioners also authorized a $57,046 contract with Ace World Wide of Fallsington to transport 728 voting machines from the county warehouse to polling places for both the Primary and General Elections. The contract represents a cost of $39 per machine, per transport.

Deena Dean, director of the Board of Elections, points out that compared to the last full year when the county transported its lever machines, this rate represents a savings of approximately $18,000 to the taxpayers.
