Commissioners Remind Residents of Tax Savings During Discount Period

Homeowners who pay their county property taxes during the discount period, before April 30, will receive a 2 percent discount, the commissioners reminded residents today.  Finance Director Brian Hessenthaler says that taxpayers have 60 days from the time the bills go out to realize the savings. That deadline will pass on April 30, he noted.

“Approximately 85 percent of our taxpayers send in their payments early to take advantage of this money-saving program,” noted Chairman Charles H. Martin.
