Bucks County Commissioners' Chairman Charles Martin Celebrates with the Volunteers of Neshaminy Manor
The residents and staff of Neshaminy Manor, the county’s state-of-the-art long-term care nursing home, are assisted by hundreds of volunteers – including community groups, students, scouts, veterans, faith-based organizations, families and individuals who positively impact the activity programming at Neshaminy Manor. Each year, this special group of individuals contributes over 10,000 combined hours of volunteer service.
Neshaminy Manor held a volunteer recognition luncheon on April 25 to honor its volunteers. Commissioners’ Chairman Charles Martin thanked the many volunteers in attendance and awarded certificates. Also lauding the volunteers were Charles Kane, division leader for Bucks County Health and Human Services division, and J.C. Bailey, assistant administrator at Neshaminy Manor.
Two individuals were awarded Volunteer of the Year recognition: Rita Miller, for her organization of the bingo program and the rosary services; and Jaci Bates, who has volunteered since she was 16, recently concentrating on behind-the-scenes work to create a marketing design for the “Gardens at the Manor” foundation.
The board of Bucks County commissioners, along with Manor residents, staff, and their families, express gratitude for each volunteer’s dedicated efforts. They truly help provide a sense of community for those living and working at the Manor, while also assisting residents to enjoy local restaurants, shops, concerts and plays.
