Bucks County Commissioners Break Ground for Upper Bucks Government Service Center
Afternoon Ceremony Also Includes District Court 07-2-05 Groundbreaking
Putting shovel to earth in a symbolic start to construction of Bucks County’s state-of-the-art Upper Bucks Government Service Center and District Court 07-2-05, Commissioners Charles H. Martin, James F. Cawley, Esq. and Sandra A. Miller today broke ground for the $4.1 million capital projects at 229 California Rd., Richland Twp.
The two buildings, which will replace their current facilities at 515 South West End Blvd. in Quakertown, are part of the county’s continuing trend of Public Works contracts, a comprehensive slate of construction that also includes the Morgue/Crime Lab, the 911 Emergency Communications Annex and the recently completed Bucks County Corrections Facility modular addition.
“We are pleased to guide both of these important construction projects to this step in the process,” said Commissioner Martin. “Both of these facilities will provide county employees and judges the opportunity to serve the taxpayers of Bucks County in an efficient, professional manner for years to come.”
The Upper Bucks Government Service Center offices provides residents with comprehensive
services such as passport applications, concealed weapons permits and dog licenses. The building also will include Health Department offices, both administrative and clinical, Adult Probation and Parole, and Military Affairs.
The other new building, District Court 07-2-05, will house the chambers of the Hon. C. Robert Roth.
