Bucks County Commissioners Award $42,000 to 13 Senior CentersEach of the County-Operated Facilities to Receive $4K for Operational Costs
In a show of support for the 13 senior centers Bucks County operates throughout the region, the Board of Bucks County Commissioners awarded $42,000, or a $4,000 contract increase for operational costs at each facility, during its June 20, bi-monthly meeting at Solebury Township’s scenic Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve.
“We are committed to ensuring the efficient operation of our many diverse senior centers, and this increase is a tangible way to help the county Area Agency on Aging in this vital mission,” said Commissioner Chairman Charles H. Martin.
The increase will directly impact Warminster’s Benjamin H. Wilson Senior Center, the Bensalem Senior Citizens Association, the Bristol Twp. Senior Citizens, the five centers operated by the Bucks County Association for Retired & Senior Citizens (BCARSC, which operates the Lower Bucks, Neshaminy, Central Bucks, Upper Bucks and Pennridge facilities), Richboro’s Council Rock Senior Citizens Association, Ottsville’s Eastern Upper Bucks Seniors, Inc., Levittown’s Middletown Senior Citizens Association, and the Morrisville Senior Servicenter.
Bucks County is home to more than 100,000 residents over the age of 60, many of whom take advantage of the diverse range of programs offered by the senior centers.
