Bucks County Health Department To Spray For Adult Mosquitoes In Warrington Twp. On Evening Of August 29

As a public-safety measure of its environmental treatment program, the Bucks County Health Department advises residents of Warrington Twp. that department representatives will be applying adult mosquito spray between the hours of 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, weather permitting. The application is intended to reduce the number of mosquitoes in the area, insects that could carry the West Nile Virus.

The area to be addressed is bounded by County Line, Lower State and Street Roads and includes several areas owned by Warrington Twp., among them Lower Nike, Porter IGOE field, Special Equestrian, and Twin Oaks. The spraying also will encompass Kulp Rd. East and West, Bradley Rd., Fox Dr., and Morning Walk Dr. In addition, there is a small development across from Elbow Lane that will be treated.

According to the Health Department, the application will involve less than one ounce of pesticide per acre, which will have no effect on pets or pools. Residents should expect to see county trucks performing the service. To avoid directly inhaling the pesticide, they are advised to close all windows from 7:00-9:30 p.m.
