Local Celebrity Brings Holiday Cheer to Bucks County Seniors
Santa is not the only personality to come to town this holiday season! On Sunday, December 23, local celebrity Justin Guarini serenaded the residents of Bucks County’s Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home with an assortment of Christmas melodies. Guarini, along with Kelly Clarkson, was a finalist during the first season of the popular television show, American Idol. Guarini, a local favorite, was raised in Doylestown and attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia as well as the School for Film & Television in New York City before appearing on American Idol.
Christmas celebrations filled the room and smiles abounded as Guarini took the stage. His bright, soulful voice brought much excitement and joviality to the residents of Neshaminy Manor. One resident, Nancy Eastburn, remarked “I thought the whole thing was gorgeous! Justin really made the show!” Afterwards, Guarini stayed to mingle with residents and sign autographs for friends and family. When asked about how it felt to perform at Neshaminy Manor, he replied, “I love that I can do something to lift
Christmas spirits. My voice was a gift that I was given and it’s a gift I am more than happy to share.” As cheerful residents headed back to their rooms for the evening, Administrator Evelyn M. Kozlowski commented on the festivities; “I just want to say how wonderful Justin is that he would give up his own personal time to do this for our residents. It just goes to show where his values are.”
Neshaminy Manor, a long-term care nursing home, was officially opened by the Bucks County Board of Commissioners on April 30, 2000. Located in Warrington, Bucks County, Neshaminy Manor provides physical, emotional and spiritual care and support for its 360 residents.
