Commissioners Continue To Improve Public Services with Completion Of Two Capital Projects
Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies at County Bridge #349 in Bedminster Twp., District Court 07-3-02 in Warwick Twp.

The Bucks County Commissioners with Public Works Director Joseph Bush at Bridge #349.During a pair of afternoon ribbon cuttings yesterday dedicated to the ongoing capital improvement of county-operated facilities, Bucks County Commissioners Charles H. Martin, chairman, James F. Cawley, Esq., and Sandra A. Miller officially opened two structures. The first took place at county bridge #349 on Scott Rd. in Bedminster Twp. A couple hours later, in Warwick Twp., the commissioners cut the ribbon on District Court 07-3-02, which is located at 1720 Kendarbren Rd., Suite 711 The court will house the chambers of Magisterial District Judge Robert A. Schnell, Jr., who previously presided over District Court 07-3-01.

Commissioners during the ribbon cutting.“We are pleased to re-open bridge #349 following a series of emergency repairs,” Chairman Martin noted. “Original estimates put the timetable at two to three months. These repairs were completed in nine weeks. I compliment our Public Works department for its timely completion of this project.”

During their Oct. 17 meeting, the commissioners approved a $122,140 contract with Professional Construction Contractors, Inc., of Bethlehem, PA, the same company which repaired county bridge #89 in Newtown Borough earlier this year. Moments after the commissioners cut the ribbon, an appreciative resident crossed the bridge and gave the governing trio a smile and a “thumbs up.”

“This state-mandated court addition is one of two here in Bucks County,” Chairman Martin added. “We look forward to continuing to serve our residents through a comprehensive court system that is geographically balanced.”
