Bucks County Business Manager Appointed to Prison Cost Management Post
Bucks County Department of Health Business Manager Joanne M. Palazzolo, MBA, was recently appointed as the county’s representative to PIMCC, the Prison Inmate Medical Cost Containment board. A service of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania (CCAP), PMICC is a medical cost management, educational program dedicated to assisting county prisons with the containment of all costs relating to prison inmate medical expenses. PIMCC's overall goal is to train, educate and provide a quality managed care program which allows counties to choose their own unique medical cost saving program.
County Chief Operating Officer David M. Sanko announced the nomination at today’s commissioners meeting, noting that Palazzolo will replace Harris Gubernick, director of Corrections, as the Bucks representative.
In her current position as business manager, she is responsible for budget preparation, fiscal and grants management, labor management and participation in long and short-term Health Department plan development. She regularly liaises with the Controller and Finance Department, as well as federal and state administrators.
