Bucks County Health Department to Spray for Adult Mosquitoes in Croydon June 12

As a public-safety measure of its routine environmental treatment program, the Bucks County Health Department advises residents of the Croydon section of Bristol Twp. that technicians will be applying adult mosquito spray at dusk on Thursday, June 12, weather permitting. The spraying will be conducted in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

The area to be addressed includes Rte. 13 and part of Neshaminy State Park and the following bordering areas: Main Ave., Cedar Ave., Miller Ave., Delaware Ave. Maryland Ave., China Ln., Central Dr., and 1st through 6th Aves. Portions of Neshaminy State Park will be treated by all-terrain vehicles. The spraying is intended to lessen the population of mosquitoes that could be associated with the transmission of West Nile Virus (WNV).

The chemical to be used during the spraying, which will be funded by federal grant monies, is Anvil 10+10. According to the Health Department, the application will involve less than one ounce of pesticide per acre, which will have no effect on pets or pools.
