Health Department, DEP to Spray for Mosquitoes in Croydon and West Bristol June 24
The Board of Bucks County Commissioners joins the county Health Department and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to advise residents of a mosquito-spraying event scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, in the Croydon and West Bristol sections of Bristol Township. According to Health Department officials, the preventive event will address elevated counts of mosquitoes known to transmit or amplify West Nile Virus. It will begin at dusk, weather permitting.
The first area to be treated will include Avenues 1 through 6, in addition to Delaware, Miller and Main avenues, as well as the rigging area. The second are to be treated will be sections of West Bristol including Prospect, Maple and Dixon avenues from Newport Rd. to Newportville Rd., and the cross streets Norwood, Franklin and Memorial avenues.
Other affected roads will include Park, Westminster, Leedom, Westwood, Westmount, Westview and Western avenues.
