Bucks County Health Department Advises Test Results Indicate No Sewage Leak into Lake Caroline/Queen Anne Creek

The Bucks County Health Department reports that test results on samples taken from Lake Caroline and Queen Anne Creek do not indicate a sewage leak. Last week, residents were advised against using the water bodies for recreational use due to a foul odor that caused an investigation involving the Health Department, Falls Township Water and Sewer Authority, Fish and Boat Commission and the Department of Environmental Protection.

Peter Noll of the Environmental Bureau indicates that since results do not indicate a sewer discharge, residents can fish on the lake and in the creek.

Health Director David C. Damsker, MD, MPH emphasizes that this area is not an approved recreational swimming location and is not monitored on a regular basis. Damsker notes that approved public bathing locations are inspected by his department for the protection and general welfare of the public.  For more information on the Bucks County Health Department, visit www.BucksCounty.org.
